Currently running at 30 pedigree ewes, the Hampshire Downs were established with the arrival of Jamie as stockman with foundation lines coming from the Gorgeous and Court flocks. Tups used include Eddison Nelson , Yarcome Maximus and the most recent being a tup from the Treworthal flock. Both tups and females are available for sale from this flock and plans include showing on a regional scale in the future.
The Coloured Ryelands are the latest addition to the sheep enterprises at Pointer Farm and started with the private purchases from the Haysden flock. Tups currently being used are Tranwell Whyiman and Somerford Laser. The aim will be to run this flock at 30 pedigree ewes. The Pointer flock is just one of two MV flocks in the country. This sweet meat will no doubt make a great addition to the pub menu.
The Exmoor Horn flock was chosen as a light footed horn sheep for grazing park land. These sheep are run incredibly commercially as they are hardy and don't require a lot of maintenance and are totally grass fed. The aim will be to push flock numbers up to 100 breeding ewes with a view to marketing the lamb through the Pointer Brill pub and restaurant.
