The team at Pointer have this month announced the private sale of our 11-month old bull, Hamish 1st of Pointer, to Marc Scheer, Luxembourg, for an undisclosed four-figure price, marking the first ever export sale for the Pointer livestock enterprises.

This January 2017-born bull is by herd sire Lenny Rianfhach of Kelby and is out of Daisy of Hardham, one of the 11-cow herd’s original foundation females when the herd was established just two years. This particular young bull has been a stand out since he was born and has always showed great promise. He had originally been destined for our 2018 show team and possibly retained as junior herd sire for our own use.

Commenting on the sale, purchaser Mr Scheer, who runs 85 Highland cattle under the Highland Cattle Eschweiler prefix, said: “I’ve been looking for a promising young bull with great fleshing ability and scale and was particularly impressed with the images I saw of this bull. Having requested videos of him to show his locomotion and his relations within the herd, I agreed the sale and now look forward to seeing how he will perform in the herd.”

The team at pointer would like to wish Marc the very best with his new junior herd sire and we look forward to hearing how he breeds for him in the future.
